Stephen Dickinson is a Senior Associate in the firm. He was admitted to practice in 2001 first joining a “boutique” Adelaide firm primarily providing environmental and planning advice to a number of large national mining and industrial companies.

Stephen’s experience with that firm, as well as seven years of employment in the hospitality industry, saw him join Wallmans Lawyers’ Local Government, Planning and Liquor Licensing Team. Within two years at Wallmans, Stephen was promoted to Associate level and transferred to the firm’s Commercial Litigation section.

Whilst at Wallmans Lawyers, Stephen specialised in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, continuing to represent Local Government clients and gaining further exposure to Industrial Relations and Maritime Law.

Stephen gained broad experience in representing a range of corporate and private clients in the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts of South Australia, as well as the Federal Magistrates Court and the Industrial Relations Court. In 2006, Stephen conducted his first trial as Counsel in the Administrative and Disciplinary Division of the District Court.

Stephen joined Iles Selley Lawyers in January 2007 to broaden his areas of practice and to follow his interest in criminal law. He has since built a practice in the criminal jurisdiction and is currently assisting Senior Counsel in a number of Supreme and District Court criminal matters.

He maintains a significant commercial litigation practice acting for corporate and private clients who find themselves involved in disputes relating to trade practices, general breaches of contract, copyright, debt recovery and insolvency, as well as in the building industry.

In his spare time, Stephen is entering his fifteenth season of cricket for the Adelaide University Cricket Club, currently as the Club’s B Grade District Captain. He is a member of the AUCC Committee and the AUCC Centenary Committee and has represented the Club at both meetings and Tribunal hearings of the South Australian Cricket Association.
